Polish School

Zespół Szkolno-Przedszkolny in Jaroszów, Poland, is a school with about 250 students. We have children from age 3 years old to 15 years old. There are 32 teachers in our school. The school is in the southwest part of Poland near the city of Strzegom. The school is located in the village of Jaroszów and also collects children of the surrounding villages. We have wonderful children, who are really talented in many areas. The reason for joining the Erasmus plus program is that we would like our students to develop their knowledge in English with other students from other countries. We intend to open their doors to the world so that they can experience the importance of learning in another language. The participation in the project will give children and young people opportunities to acquire new experiences. It will help to overcome the language barrier. Children will learn to cope with new and stressful situations because of language. We also like the idea of working on the spirit of initiative and entrepreneurship, as we believe it can help our teens to mature more autonomy and responsibility to manage the time, the study and the resources available to them.

The team Erasmus is made up of Beata Jankiewicz, headteacher of the school and Joanna Pietras, project coordinator. Joanna is a teacher of English both in primary and secondary classes, she studied 10 years in the United States. The second coordinator is Monika Bytnar-Gołembiowska. Monika is a teacher of Polish and Art, also she takes care of the library and the school newspaper. Our school is characterized by green class. A garden has been set up outside of the school with tables and benches to have lessons there. We teach English and other subjects. We use various forms of teaching, going even outside of the box to make our lessons very creative. The green class is particularly valid for scientific subjects because it is possible to carry out own experiments outdoors. The main purpose of the green class is that it can take children out and not have to stay in the building when the weather is nice, we increase the motivation and the climate of pupil’s learning. We feel very creative, we would say that we like doing things from nothing. We are not afraid of the challenges. We work well as teachers and we have many good ideas. We work as a team and there is a good atmosphere in our school.
